New Year, new you!

SAY goodbye to the old and hello to the new, which in this context is 2016 and yourself!

Why not ring in the New Year with some new goals? Though many of us have been focused on holiday parties, family festivities and winter activities, there is another holiday tradition looming just around the bend, the famous New Year’s resolutions. And rather than let this tradition sneak up on us, I suggest we take some time to reflect and prepare ourselves for the New Year.

It is that time of the year, when people have a set of goals set and if you are anything like me, your list of New Year’s resolutions reads like a sort of global to-do list.

We resolve to change our diets, exercise more, travel to new places, and finish a big creative project. We resolve to be better by doing more.

You have probably heard these clichés a thousand times. This year, instead of resolving to fit into a new pair of skinny jeans, what would happen if we did the unconventional and lived boldly? What would happen if we defied societal norms and pursued living in a way that’s intentional and purposeful, disregarding a checklist of requirements and a set of scripted conversations?

You will have moments in life in which you feel like the candles have blown out, the magic faded, but throwing in the towel is not an option. Instead, find a fresh start amid the chaos of a new season. Please don’t get me wrong, having goals is a good thing.

All I am saying is try and do things differently this year and explore a lot of options before you settle for the set of goals, which only last for as long as a week. Allowing those goals to consume your every thought, however, can leave you feeling like an empty handed runner-up instead of a winner, so dare to be different this year.

Change the resolutions into something different that will get your mind to do all that needs to be done. You see, I have never liked the word resolutions because it suggests that something has been tried and often failed.

Resolutions do not do us much good but frustrate us when we look back and try to account for that which has not been achieved.

Declaring your New Year’’s resolution may not be the best way to get serious about personal goals. I think instead of coming up with a long list of resolutions, rather commit yourself to changing the bad and learning new things that will help you change for the better.

The great thing about commitment is that they allow you to see all progress as a good thing. If it takes you longer than you would like to meet a resolution, it is easy to get discouraged, but when you approach your life changes from a commitment point of view, you can see how far you have come from where you started and celebrate that as success.

As you work toward whatever your intentions for the New Year may be, it is important to remind yourself that the road might not be easy and a specific quantitative goal may not be attained within a limited timeframe. Achieving anything in life requires discipline and more than just discipline, staying committed to goals requires faith in the value of your goals. If you remain focused and cultivate your chosen goals, you will eventually become a magnet for the right projects and people. Then, all those missed “opportunities” which would have distracted you and exhausted your energy will not really seem to matter anymore.

As you start on a brand New Year forgive yourself for the past mistakes and make it your business to learn and move on to be a better person. To all the married couples cultivate your marriage and love your partner like you have never loved before.

Improve your bedroom this year and learn new ways to excite your partner do not let the sexual light burn out in your home.

Love each other more and better than last year and enjoy every moment you spend with your partner. Marriage has to be among your commitments and sex is a vital need in every marriage that should not be left unattended.

Do not forget to balance your finances in your family and make sure that all the financial needs re very important and should be well addressed. Build your finances and make sure that your families are provided for and adequately taken care of.

Remember Love, sex and money are all very important elements in every marriage.
