YOUTH have a role to play in marketing Zimbabwe internationally using their digital skills, a Cabinet Minister has said.

Speaking during the second edition of the Zimbabwe Tourism Innovation Challenge National awards ceremony held in Harare on Wednesday, Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu said youth are the most technology-savvy generation as they spend much of their time online.

“The focus on youth in tourism is a transformation that requires multi-stakeholder support as we renew and bolster our tourism for a stronger sector,” he said.

Tumelo Mabanga walked away with a whooping US$7 500 for the first prize in the 2022 edition of the Zimbabwe Tourism Innovation Challenge.

She was rewarded for her project, Find & Go, a platform that connects customers to service providers in the hospitality industry.
