NEW: ZBC appoints new CEO

Ms Adelaide Chikunguru has been appointed the new chief executive officer of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC).

The national broadcaster’s board chair, Dr Josaya Tayi, announced the appointment on Wednesday.

“The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has appointed Ms Adelaide Chikunguru as the substantive chief executive officer with effect from this Wednesday.

“Ms Chikunguru’s appointment was announced by the ZBC board chairperson, Dr Josaya Tayi, at Pockets Hill Studios in Highlands, Harare, this Wednesday.

“She was the group corporate communications executive at Tongaat Hulett and has promised to steer the national broadcaster to greater heights,” said ZBC in a statement.
