AFGHANISTAN’s tour to Zimbabwe has been postponed yet again, with the two cricket boards agreeing to push the limited-overs series to a later date.
The Chevrons were expected to host the Asians in three ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and five T20I matches in Harare this month.
However, Zimbabwe Cricket have since asked to defer the visit as they failed to secure all the required broadcast services,including the Decision Review System, and cited the many cricket events happening across the world.
ZC managing director Givemore Makoni confirmed the new developments.
“We were excited about hosting Afghanistan but given the circumstances, deferring the tour was the only option.
“We are, however, looking forward to the rescheduling of the series as soon as practically possible,” said Makoni.
This is the second time the tour has been rescheduled, as the series was originally slated for December.
The outbreak of the Omicron virus late last year was the reason behind the delay, after which Afghanistan requested the series to played in February.
