NEW: Zim to receive 60 000 Covid-19 vaccine doses from Mauritius

GOVERNMENT will receive 60 000 doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines from Mauritius, a Cabinet Minister has said.

Addressing Wednesday’s post-Cabinet briefing, acting Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Dr Jenfan Muswere said the consignment will be received on a date that will be announced in due course.

He said the donation will aid Zimbabwe’s quest to achieve herd immunity.

As of April 19, 2022, Zimbabwe’s cumulative Covid-19 cases stood at 247 336, with 241 160 recoveries and 5 466 deaths.

To date, 5 799 542 million people have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
