Zimbabwe is poised to host the inaugural Voices That Rock Zim Awards on July 11 in Harare.
The black-tie ceremony, organised by KComms Agency, will combine contemporary awards and Hall of Fame inductions, marking a significant milestone in celebrating Zimbabwe’s voice-over artists, broadcasters and presenters.
Project manager, Rumbidzai Peresuh of KComms Agency, identified a crucial gap in Zimbabwe’s entertainment awards landscape, noting that while platforms like NAMA, Comic Awards and Music Talent Awards celebrated various artistic achievements, vocal talent had remained largely unrecognised.
“We are now actually elevating and celebrating that voice that continues to entertain, to educate and bring various brands to life,” said Peresuh.
The event will feature 15 comprehensive categories, ranging from radio excellence to international voice recognition.
A highlight of the ceremony will be the induction of 15 iconic voices into the inaugural Hall of Fame, celebrating their lasting contributions to Zimbabwean storytelling, culture and heritage.
The awards come at a pivotal time for Zimbabwe’s entertainment industry, which has shown remarkable resilience despite challenges.
