NEW: Zimbabwe’s tobacco exports reach US$337 million

Zimbabwe has so far earned US$337 million from 49 million kilogrammes of tobacco, latest figures from the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) show.

According to the TIMB report, Far East countries bought 37,5 million kg valued at US$300 million, at an average price of US$7,99.

Some 3,8 million kg of tobacco valued at US$10 million, were exported to African countries.

The European Union accounted for 2,6 million kg, to the tune of US$7 million.
