AT just 24, Harare’s energetic choreographer and Zumba coach Nissi Nyamayaro, popularly known as Nixxi, is dancing his way into hearts, and now, into the wellness space.

Known for his captivating moves and dynamic stage presence, Nixxi is expanding his impact beyond entertainment with the launch of “Get Ready to Groove with Nixxi’s Dance Nights” — a series of wellness-focused dance sessions aimed at promoting fitness, mental health and community.

The classes will be hosted at his newly opened Versatile Dance Studio, conveniently located near Copacabana Bus Terminus in central Harare.

The initiative blends dance with wellness in a fun, vibrant environment that’s open to all, regardless of age or skill level.

“I’m thrilled to launch this initiative. It’s designed to help people improve their health and well-being while having fun,” said Nixxi.

The first session kicks off this weekend, with follow-up classes set to run twice a month.

Zumba will be at the core of the programme, complemented by a variety of dance styles, including ndombolo, coupe-decale, amapiano, hip-hop and Afro dance.

For Nixxi, this venture is deeply personal.

A former footballer who shifted to dance after discovering the joy it brought him, he credits inspiration from industry legends like Zororo Nhira for his evolution as an artist.

“I’ve always loved dancing. I used to create my own moves just by watching videos. Dance has taken me places, and I don’t regret choosing it. Now, I want to give back through wellness,” he shared.

Nixxi has built an impressive resume, having worked with top local acts like Killer T, Freeman, and Roki, and even performing during Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz’s visit to Zimbabwe for the Kadoma Music Festival.

Now, with Dance Nights, he’s championing a broader mission: changing the perception of dance from a mere hobby to a legitimate, fulfilling career path.

“Through passion, hard work, and professionalism, I want to inspire others to follow their dreams, and to see dance as a powerful tool for personal transformation,” he said.

With a growing following and a fresh vision, Nixxi is poised to make wellness just as thrilling as the beats that move his feet.
