NEW: Zupco adjusts fares

Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (Zupco) has reviewed upwards buses and commuter omnibus fares for intra-city routes to cover rising operational costs.

The increase comes into effect on Wednesday.

Zupco now charges $80 for a 20km commute on a bus, up from $50, while kombis will charge $100, up from $80 for a similar distance.

For a distance of up to 30km on a bus, Zupco now charges $100, up from $80, while kombi fares have been reviewed to $120 from $100.
