Nexus to perform at Culture Expo

that group have been included in the show’s line-up.
“We are happy that the standard of our work has caught the attention of the pop world of music. Because it is not a regular thing for a choir like ours to make it onto the pop stage. We would like thank the organisers of Rebel Salute for allowing us to do so. It’s the kind of show that we love with its family values and so on. We appreciate the organisers having us on,” Douse told the Jamaica Observer.

“Nexus has performed on mainstream musical events before. We appeared on the Bob Marley 50th anniversary show, JaRIA (Jamaica Reggae Industry Association) Reggae Month concert and at Gregory Isaacs’ funeral.

“But apart from those events, for most part, it was always backing other artistes. And one of the most memorable is the 2009 Jamaica Jazz and Blues when we appeared with Foreigner,” recalled Douse.

Formed 12 years ago, Nexus has performed as back-up choir for Beres Hammond on his Moment In Time concert as well as for Tarrus Riley on a recent staging of Layers of Souls. – Jamaica Observer.
