Neymar speaks out

MADRID. — Barcelona superstar Neymar has now spoken about the issues around his contract extension and the latest rumours linking him with Real Madrid. The 23-year-old is set to sign a new bumper contract with the Catalan giants, which would reportedly make him the third-highest paid player in the world. According to new reports, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is determined to bring the Brazilian to the Bernabeu, but Neymar has laughed this off and also opened up about his ongoing legal struggles. “It’s true that my dad said that the tax issues are a problem, but we’re talking all that over,” he said, as quoted by Marca.

“I’m still under contract and, of course, I intend to sign a new one.” Neymar currently leads the Pichichi race for the best goalscorer in La Liga with 14 goals, two more than his teammate, Luis Suarez. “I’m in the form of my career,” he added.

“I’m really pleased with how everything’s happening for me; I’m helping my teammates to the best of my abilities and they’re doing the same for me. I hope to keep improving.“ — AFP.
