NGEZI STILL BELIEVE

NGEZI Platinum Stars coach, Takesure Chiragwi, believes the balance and depth in his team can help ring-fence the championship in Mhondoro.

The defending champions are off the pace with league leaders Simba Bhora, who have picked 53 points, a significant 12 points above the miners after playing 26 games.

Chiragwi’s boys have two games in hand.

Ngezi Platinum have the chance to make a statement this afternoon when they play Bulawayo Chiefs in the league at Luveve.

“We are fighting on two fronts and we are enjoying it. That is the reason why we play football. I think the Chibuku Super Cup is close. We are closer to getting another dance in the African Safari.

“Mathematically we are still in with a chance to win the league title. We just need to do our best and concentrate.

“We are not going to give up. We are working very hard to make sure that we collect maximum points as much as we can.

“What is important is how we manage the team in terms of recovery. I think we have got enough ammunition to take us through.

“We need to have the balance because we know we are going to travel. I think we have the depth to carry us through. It’s not going to be easy but we are certainly going to fight hard to try and defend the title.” Chiragwi wants his men to believe they can win any match.

“We face Bulawayo Chiefs in their own den and the match will obviously be very difficult. But we are going out there looking for nothing but a win.

“That’s the mentality we are carrying and the boys are well motivated to grind out results in the coming games”.

Simba Bhora will visit Baobab on Saturday in what could be the most explosive match of the season.

“That’s what football is all about and we are ready to rumble on. We just need to manage ourselves as a team and look after our players’ recovery,” said Chiragwi.

“We need to be very careful but play with confidence as we go.”
