In an interview, Tjinyunyi Babili administrator, Mr Khumbulani Tshuma said the organisation needed funds to recapitalise the project.
“We appealed last year seeking for funds but nothing has come up and we are still in need of the funds. Our project is based on marula oil and the oil is used to manufacture cosmetics and soap,” he said.
The organisation is a community project and covers people from Masendu, Huwane and Ezimnyama areas.
He said the business had technical problems and the organisatition needed partners to help in the project.
“The organisation is also in need of machinery to crack the nuts and last time the organisation had to pay the locals to manually crack the nuts with stones and this sometimes crushes them totally. The oil is exported to markets in South Africa and France,” he said.
“The marula trees start to produce the fruits in mid-March and the cracking of nuts starts from June till August,” he said.
