When artistes talk of international tours, fans usually envision bright lights and crowds of adoring fans cheering an artiste they have been craving to see perform live.
For prominent urban grooves artiste, Ngoni Kambarami, the above scene seems to be far from his reality. The Zimbabwean crooner was humbled when less than 20 people showed up for his stopover gig at Dunstable Leisure Centre in Luton, UK.
In a video that has been circulating on social media platforms the singer is seen on stage in front of a near empty auditorium, as the few people in attendance look on indifferentlly.
To his credit the Angela hit-maker, who has put on a lot of weight since his first appearance in 2002 as a slim but velvet voiced crooner, put on a display that seemed befitting of a much larger audience.
Contacted for comment Ngoni was non-committal, choosing not to speak on his showing at the gig.
Ngoni is not the first Zimbabwean artiste to have a dismal showing in the UK, with other artistes having shows flop for a number of reasons.
Earlier this year, seven local musicians, including dancehall chanters Ras Caleb, Don Gaga, Lipsy, Diana Samkange, Drum Dada, Hollipah D and Progress Chipfumo, were stranded in the United Kingdom after promoters of The One Nation, One People tour, Shelton Sitima and Lady Bimma, allegedly bolted on them without paying their performance fees or even paying for the return flights despite having fulfilled all their shows.
Another artiste to fall victim to the UK tour curse was Dendera maestro Sulumani Chimbetu who had to quit his a?tour from hella? in April and reschedule to a later date after encountering a number of problems.
