Nguru, Smith tied on standings

WHAT has been a good year for Clive Nguru got even better during the Harare Amateur Champioships at Police over the weekend.
The promising golfer came second, behind Scott Vincent, to join Ben Follet-Smith at the top of the order of merit. The second place finish, which came seven days after his triumph at the Champion of Champions at Warren Hills, saw Nguru move into joint leadership of the order of merit with 245 points. That puts him on tie with Royal Harare golfer, Follet-Smith, who is scheduled to leave for the United States soon.

While Nguru thrived, Follet-Smith had his worst game of the season as he failed to make it into the top 10. Thembelani Vundhla, who is quickly establishing himself as a force to reckon with, is now ranked number three with 209 points from 12 events. points.
