GREENFUEL forward Chris Ngwende has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the top-flight, making a significant impact in recent matches.

Ngwende announced  himself by becoming the first player to score a brace against the formidable Scottland side this season.

Scottland, known for their rock-solid defence, had not conceded more than one goal in a match before the Greenfuel clash.

With an impressive 11 clean sheets in 19 games, their backline was unbreakable until Ngwende’s brilliance in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Ngwende’s double strike took his season tally to three goals, having opened his account earlier against Triangle United.

Despite a slow start to his top-flight career, the young forward is now proving his worth, showcasing confidence and composure in front of goal.

Reflecting on his standout performance, Ngwende described the match against Scottland as his best yet.

“My best game so far was against Scottland. I scored a brace,” he said.

“It was a tough opponent, but we believed in our strategy and executed it well. Scoring against such a talented team is a confidence booster, but we’re not getting complacent, we still have a lot to do.”

The forward also credited his improvement to the guidance of his coaches and the support of his club.

“Last year was my first year playing in the PSL. Everything was new, so the confidence wasn’t there yet.

“But this season, there’s nothing much new besides hard work and applying what I’m being taught by the coaches. I’m grateful for what the club is doing for us, supporting us to fight for our targets and dreams.”

With his recent performances, Ngwende is quickly becoming a key player for GreenFuel.

Ngwende said he is focused on one thing going forward,

“Looking forward to scoring more goals and providing more assists.”

Greenfuel, who lost to Ngezi Platinum on Saturday at their Chisumbanje base, will be hoping to bounce back better.

Boys dze Nharo, as the club is affectionately known, is now under the guidance Rodwell Dhlakama.

Dhlakama replaced Taurayi Mangwiro who was elevated to the technical director position after the 5-1 drubbing against Triangle.
