NGWENYA HUNGRY FOR MORE

DYNAMOS midfielder, Vusa Ngwenya marked his Chibuku Super Cup debut in their 3-1 win over ZPC Kariba in a re-arranged first round match at Rufaro on Wednesday.

It was his first appearance this year since he was promoted to the senior team last year.

Ngwenya was introduced as a second half substitution coming in for hard man Shadreck Nyahwa, and managed to dazzle the fans with his deft touches.

In less than 15 minutes that he was on the pitch, he managed to win the heart of many fans.

He will likely earn more game time under coach, Lloyd “Mablanyo” Chigowe.

Speaking to Zimpapers Sport, Ngwenya said he is eager to shine at the club.

“I was not fortunate enough to have game time since I was promoted to the senior team and had to be patient as there are a lot of senior guys who are good. So I know I had to wait a little bit longer.

“It was always my wish to shine at the club and given this chance was very important for me.

“It’s motivating to hear from fans and teammates that you did well. Of course the pressure of trying not to do things wrongly will be there as you fear backlash from the fans but the coach played an important role.

“He told me to go and enjoy my game and to play towards my strength. He said he is aware of my capabilities and there was no need for me to be afraid and it worked as I had confidence.

“Of course we have a deep understanding of each other as you know with coach Chigowe we started to work back together at the juniors in 2016.

“I have learnt a lot of things from him as I went through the stages. Being at Dynamos is all I have dreamt of and given the chance to play means I will have to fight for the badge and do it for all those who have trusted me.

“I just need to keep on pushing hard to make sure that I will be ready to deliver each time I will be called into action. My teammates have also played an important role making it possible for the young to learn.”
