NIGHTCLUB manager, Ronald Ngwenya, who has been charged with raping his 13-year-old niece, was back in court yesterday where he was given his trial date.

Ngwenya appeared before Harare regional magistrate Stanford Mambanje, who set February 8 for trial commencement.

The court heard that on December 9 last year at around 1am, the girl woke up to find Ngwenya, who is her uncle, fondling her private parts.

It is alleged that he covered her mouth to stifle her screams and raped her.

He allegedly left her room and returned after a while, and bumped into the girl going to the toilet.

He allegedly dragged her back into her bedroom and raped her again.

The child reported the matter to the maid, and a report was made to the police, leading to Ngwenya’s arrest.

George Manokore appeared for the State.
