The transformation from promising talent to proven performer is one of the most difficult transitions in football.
For Vusa Ngwenya, that evolution is now complete after arriving at Dynamos juniors at just 12 years of age.
With each passing fixture, Ngwenya’s performances have improved, making him one of the most dependable Dembare players who are executing their duty with steel.
This was visible against ZPC Kariba as Dynamos progressed to the semi-final.
Delivering a solid and commanding display throughout, the young star saved his most telling contribution for the final decisive moment.
With the weight of the match resting on his shoulders, Ngwenya stepped up.
He converted to make it 4-2. He sent Future Sibanda, the Kauya Katuruturu goalkeeper, diving helplessly the wrong way, sealing the victory with an aura of unshakeable confidence.
“I am delighted to be contributing to the team, especially after everything we have been through,” said Ngwenya.
“But this is just the start. I am focused on adding more goals in our upcoming fixtures. The target is clear, we must secure our survival in the league, and I am determined to play my part in achieving that,” said Ngwenya.
Dynamos had a poor start that saw them plunge into the relegation zone for the better half of the season.
Despite a recent rejuvenation that have seen them go for eight matches unbeaten in all competitions, Dynamos remain in the relegation zone but a win against Ngezi Platinum in the league can take them to the mid table.
“The position we are really need a collective approach from the team and the fans. It needs us to push extra hard. We already have the belief and we know it can happen,” he said.
