Nhema divorces

Justice Hlekani Mwayera granted the order after the parties filed a consent document on how to share their properties.

“The order is granted in terms of the draft order,” said Justice Mwayera briefly.
The order in question read:
“A decree of divorce is hereby granted. Custody of the minor child is hereby granted to plaintiff (Ms Nkomo).

“A consent paper filed of record by the parties shall regulate the following ancillary and proprietary matters; (a) defendant’s access to the minor child (b) maintenance, school fees and medical aid (c) division of immovable assets.

“Each party shall bear its own costs,” read the order. The Herald could not access the details of the properties to be shared and the manner in which they would be distributed.

Ms Nkomo is daughter to the late Vice President Joshua Nkomo.
Ms Nkomo, for unknown reasons, was the one who sought divorce and the minister consented to it. The matter was dealt with on the unopposed roll at the High Court.
