Zanu-PF’s Politburo has directed Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Minister Francis Nhema to align the indigenisation laws with the policy and report back to the ruling party with recommendations. Party spokesperson Cde Rugare Gumbo said yesterday Minister Nhema was on Wednesday directed by the Politburo to ensure the law reflects ZANU-PF’s thinking.
He said, “This will also guide foreign investors accordingly.”
Cde Gumbo said they discussed the proposed new permit for A1 farmers.
“Government will introduce a permit for A1 farmers where those who would have been issued with the permits would be required to pay rentals for the land allocated to them,” he said.
The new model was expected to be launched this week but the event was postponed to a date to be advised.
Cde Gumbo said the Politburo urged the media to meaningfully support Government programmes.
“The Politburo also said the media was not doing enough to support Government programmes and educate the people on them,” he said. “They called on the media to play their part by positively reporting on them and to ensure their success.”
Cde Gumbo said discussion on preparations for the party’s December 2014 National Congress had been deferred.
