Nhokwara said Fynn was already in Egypt where he is taking part in a challenger while Chanakira is expected to be there by tomorrow. The pair of Garanganga and Dzuwa are still waiting for their visas but should be in Cairo by Friday.
The national association had earlier on indicated that the team will be in Egypt today for them to have some time to train together ahead of the tournament but it seems there is going to be some delays.
“We are just processing visas, some are late because of some technicalities but Fynn is already in Egypt. “Chanakira should be in Egypt by Wednesday while Martin and Takanyi are still waiting for their visas. “Unfortunately because of the visas some may be late but I believe by Friday they should be in Egypt.
“Takanyi’s (visa) is being done in New York and they have promised that by Wednesday it will be done the same for Dzuwa,” said Nhokwara.
Nhokwara said it was going to be a tough competition but remained optimistic the team will do well.
“The most important preparation is participating in similar events or events of the same magnitude which are features and challengers.
“And Takanyi has been doing some events and he lost in the quarter-finals. Tino was in Doha, Qatar, playing in features and Mark Fynn is playing in Egypt, he was in Thailand last week.
“Last year we failed on the last hurdle and this year there is going to be tougher competition. “It will be a question of the draw, if we are luck we should get into the finals and maybe win,” said Nhokwara.
The TZ administrator, however, appealed to well wishers and sponsors to chip in as they still need some money to cater for allowances and the upkeep of the players during their stay in Egypt.
