Nicki Minaj crowns herself ‘queen of fragrance’

SHE might be a pop princess, but Nicki Minaj has taken a step up in the world and crowned herself a fragrance queen.
The 30-year-old shared the advertisement for her latest perfume, Minajesty, via Instagram on Wednesday. Standing, arms outstretched, in front of a golden throne, the “Super Bass” singer styled herself in medieval royal regalia.
Wearing a dress every bit as elaborate as one Marie Antoinette might have worn, Nicki appeared to have once again turned to her favourite colour for inspiration.
Under neon pink working announcing the name of the new scent, Minaj wore a voluminous pink ruffled dress.

Mottled with cream, like a vintage tea rose, the outfit was topped off with heavy gold chains at the star’s neck and wrists.
Her pink and yellow hair, back-combed into an enormous free-flowing beehive, was accented not with a crown, but a delicate diadem or tiara.
To add to the drama, the starlet and her throne were set against a background of trees, while smoke billowed about her.

Next to the image she wrote: “Here’s an exclusive look @ the ad for my new fragrance MINAJESTY. It hits stores on 9/15. Nickiminajminajesty.com.’’
Three weeks ago, Minaj posted a picture of herself via Instagram wearing the outfit, obviously backstage at the Minajesty photoshoot, although she did not give any clues as to what the shoot was for at the time.

Later she began posting images of the distinctive perfume bottle, which is a miniature version of the songstress.
Describing the scent, she said: “#Minajesty smells like a passionate love affair.
“Mysterious and sexy. An unforgettable and hypnotising scent.’’ — Daily Mail.
