MUSICIAN, songwriter and producer, Norman “Nicky Genius” Chipfumbu, has roped in the services of Winky D, on his album titled Ndinokutendai Nei.
Genius is an artist and Golden Generation Studios music producer.
Speaking to H-Metro, Genius said his relationship with Winky D helped with their collaboration.
“Winky D is one of the greatest artists of our time and he always sends good messages in his songs. “I have a good relationship with him as we have worked on projects together, like Reply, which did very well.
“I am known as a producer first, and coming to the scene as an artist I decided to collaborate with the Big Man because his message for the song I made ‘Kumusoro’ is absolutely perfect,” he said.
“We have a good relationship as his producer and also a mentor and a brother to me,” Genius added.
He highlighted how wonderful it was working with Winky.
“It was great.
“He is very professional and always gives his utmost best,” he said.
Besides his debut album, Genius has released a series of singles.

“I released an EP two years ago called feelings and also a single, Marambadoro.
“This time I felt like I had to tell a story with my first album.
“It comes with 10 different tracks,” he said.
Unpacking the new album, Genius said it talks about the struggles people face in life.
“The album itself got the name ‘Ndinokutendai Nei?’ basing on the struggles we go through in life, but still appreciating God for still being here and helping us work towards success.
“It talks about life struggles, relationships and spiritual growth.
“It mostly covers what happens in our Zimbabwean culture as well,” he told H-Metro.
Asked how and when he is planning to release the album, Genius said:
“The strategy for the release is up to the Golden Generation management.
“The album will be coming out at the end of October and I am hoping it touches and changes lives.”
Nicky Genius also collaborated with Tocky Vibes, Ishan, Holy Ten and Baba Harare on this album.
