Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter Ada Ogochukwu Ehi, popularly known as Ada Ehi, has confirmed her show in Zimbabwe for May 6 at the Harare International Conference Centre.
The gospel music sensation, who has a number of fans in Zimbabwe, confirmed the news via her social media handles, with her fans going agog with the news.
“The Lord has granted us favour in this beautiful nation several years ago, introducing our music to this great people,” she posted. “Now He has granted the opportunity to be in this country and by His Grace we are coming! I, like you, I am excited. This one is going to be heavy. Get ready and Glory.”
Ada Ehi started her musical career at the age of 10 as a backup singer for child star Tosin Jegede.
Since she started her music career under Loveworld Records in 2009, she has increasingly gained local and international popularity through her songs and music videos.
In 2019 “Only You” was listed as one of the 20 most viewed songs of the decade from Nigeria.
On 26 August 2021, she received her first YouTube plaques for reaching one million subscribers on YouTube.
Some of her popular songs include, “Bobo Me”, “Jesus (You are Able)”, I Overcame, “Fix My Eyes on You” featuring Sinach, “Open Doors” and “Cheta”.
The musician is being brought to Zimbabwe courtesy of online music and arts promoter Gateway Stream Music.
In an interview with The Herald Arts, Rainbow Tourism Group corporate affairs and quality manager, Pride Khumbula, said; “The show is scheduled for May 6 and already we have started the preparations,” she said.
“Ada Ehi is an amazing talented artiste with a flourishing gift and career. We decided to bring her to minister to her local fan base as we believe she is loved by many.
“Our local artistes will get the chance to share the same stage with an internationally acclaimed artiste, create relationships, with opportunities for collaborations. This is good for Zimbabwe because it will help the local industry to grow and tap into the vast experience Ade brings with her.”
Khumbula said they have already started selling tickets and the response was overwhelming.
“We are happy with how the tickets have been running,” she said. “We hope everything will go according to plan. Ada Ehi will stay in Zimbabwe for three days, arriving early for her show.”
Khumbula said the itinerary for the show will be revealed next week.
