NIGERIAN Christian minister and televangelist, Dr Chris Okafor, will be in the country for a three-day conference, which starts on Friday, at the Harare Gardens.
Okafor is leader and founder of the Liberation and Miracle Ministry.
He is famous for running skills programmes and scholarships for underprivileged students through the Chris Okafor Humanity Foundation.
Dubbed the ‘Mighty Visitation’, the conference has been organised by Prophet Jay Israel, in partnership with the Mike Chimombe-led Economic Empowerment Group (EEG).
Speaking ahead of the conference, Prophet Israel, said they will use the conference to pray for and promote peace in the country,
“We have decided to host this three-day conference to join our hands and pray for our leaders and peace in our country.
“This is going to be a powerful conference as we host a mighty man of God, Dr Chris Okafor from Nigeria who has been used by God through many signs and wonders.
“This is an interdenominational gathering and we are inviting everyone in Zimbabwe.
“We have guests coming in from Botswana, Tanzania and Mozambique,” he said.
The organisers have also included an array of local gospel artists, who will take turns to perform at the religious event.
Artists confirmed for the event include Mathias Mhere, Jona Chivasa, Dorcas Moyo, Kuda Mutsvene and Joyful Praise, plus a surprise South African artist.
The event will appeal to local tourism actors through religious tourism.
“Many of the foreigners coming for the conference are going to be spending their money on accommodation and food, which is good for us.”
