BULAWAYO Chiefs captain, Malvin Mkolo, says they have set their sights on winning the Chibuku Super Cup in Sunday’s final against Herentals at Barbourfields.

Chiefs edged Black Rhinos in the semi-finals to book a place in the final, while Herentals upset favourites FC Platinum.

The PSL have pegged entry fees at US$1 for the rest of the ground, and a decent crowd is expected to watch what should be an entertaining game.

“We are putting in all the effort preparing for this game.

“It feels good to play in the Chibuku Super Cup final for the first time.

“It is the biggest knockout tournament in the country and we are ready to win it,” said Mkolo.

Mkolo scored the solitary goal in their 1-0 win over Bosso, in the quarter-finals.

He said that was a confidence booster for him going into Sunday’s final.

“It was a good feeling to score against a big club and it was an achievement for me to help my club into the final.”

He said Sunday’s game was more than just a final but it was about making history.

“We want to make history and Herentals want to make history since we have never won a major knockout tournament, so it will be an interesting game.

“We fought hard to be in this final and we are not just going to hand the trophy over to Herentals.

“We are playing at home and cannot afford to disappoint our fans

“We hope all football-loving fans from Bulawayo will come and watch a good game on Sunday,” Mkolo said.
