Renowned wheelspinner Nizhe De Soul is set to give back to his hometown by launching a DJing academy in Bulawayo.
The Nizhe De Soul Academy (NDS Academy) will offer professional DJ training with a hands-on approach, hosted at Kulture Studios (14th Avenue & Samuel Parirenyatwa Street). Unlike his usual mobile educational programmes, this edition will be rooted in the city, with the first month-long classes running throughout next month.
“We chose a central and accessible location so that students from all corners of Bulawayo can attend with ease. The space is designed to be both professional and creative, offering learners an environment that is welcoming, inspiring, and practical for hands-on training,” said Nizhe De Soul.
The celebrated DJ said the idea was inspired by his passion for knowledge sharing and his recent departure from the Soul Candi Institute of Music, where he had previously worked.
“This initiative has always been my dream. I’ve seen many young people with a passion for music, arts, and creativity, but lacking structured guidance and access to resources. NDS Academy was born to fill that gap, nurturing local talent and providing a platform where creativity meets education,” he said.
According to Nizhe, students will not only gain technical DJing skills but also walk away with practical industry knowledge and confidence to pursue professional opportunities.
“Beyond technical training, we emphasise self-expression, discipline, and networking. Students will build meaningful connections and leave empowered, creative, and ready to seize opportunities in their fields.
As head tutor, I’ll also provide an Ultimate DJ Guide, a handbook I’ve written covering not only DJing techniques but also branding, the business side of DJing, and the mindset required to turn your journey into a global legacy,” he added.
