A 22-YEAR-OLD Nkayi brute has been thrown behind bars for 20 years after subjecting a terrified 12-year-old girl to back-to-back rape ordeals in a chilling campaign of terror.
The fiend, from Mawindi Village, preyed on the child in her own homestead, exploiting the cover of darkness and brandishing an okapi knife to silence his young victim.
A court heard how the twisted attacks began in November 2024, when the accused ordered the girl to sleep in an unfinished building after her grandmother left. There, he stripped her naked and raped her, hissing threats to kill her if she ever spoke out.
Later that same day, he dragged her to the ground on their way back from a grinding mill and assaulted her again, waving the blade and snarling, “You’ll die if you tell anyone!”
The petrified child endured weeks of stalking before mustering the courage to flee the homestead and alert cops at Nkayi Police Station. Investigators moved swiftly, nabbing the predator and securing a damning conviction. The Bulawayo Regional Court showed no mercy, slamming him with 20 years for each count – but ordered the sentences to run side-by-side, ensuring he rots in jail for two decades.
