NKAYI Primary and Nkayi High schools will today host 16 primary schools from Matabeleland North for the National Association of Primary School Heads (Naph) Ingwebu inter-schools provincial soccer finals.
Winners in both the boys’ and girls’ categories will represent the province in the regional finals set for Matobo in Matabeleland South on July 31.
Lupane district will be represented by Sizikhile Primary in the boys’ category and Daluka Primary for the girls.
Loziba and Turk Mine Primary schools will represent Bubi district in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively, while Lwendulu (boys) and Chinotimba Primary (girls) will represent Hwange district. Binga district will be represented by one team, Chinonge (boys), after they failed to raise a girls’ team. Tshino (boys) and Dlakapinya (girls) will carry Tsholotsho district’s hopes in the finals.
Madlelanyoni Primary School will represent Umguza in both categories while hosts Nkayi have four representatives. Nyamazana and Guwe (boys) as well as Dakamela (boys) and Nyamazana (girls) will represent the host district.
Winners will get $1,200, losing finalists $1,000, third placed $800 and the fourth best team $650 in the boys competition.
In the girls’ event, the champions will walk away with $1,000, losing finalists $800, third placed $600 and the fourth $400.
