CHIEF Dakamela has made history!
The young and dynamic traditional leader from Nkayi District, Matabeleland North, has been appointed Continental Executive Director of the African Kingdoms Diaspora Alliance (AKDA) — a prestigious role set to place both Nkayi and Zimbabwe firmly on the global map.
“This is bigger than me. I am truly humbled by this appointment,” Chief Dakamela said. “It’s a great opportunity not just for me, but for the people of Nkayi, Matabeleland, and Zimbabwe as a whole.”
The AKDA, founded in 2017, champions Ubuntu values and the preservation of African cultural heritage. Chief Dakamela’s appointment signals a bold shift toward youthful, visionary leadership within the organisation.
“I hope to contribute immensely to uniting the African Kingdoms and fostering a sense of purpose and development across the continent,” he added.
Known for his innovative community development strategies and deep-rooted commitment to the less privileged, Chief Dakamela has become a respected figure both locally and abroad. His leadership style breathes new life into African traditional authority — blending cultural identity with forward-thinking progress.
This appointment is being hailed as a win for Matabeleland, a boost for rural leadership, and a shining example of what happens when youth meet purpose.
