BULAWAYO is bracing for a spiritual shake-up as the Love Zimbabwe Festival rolls into Amavene Primary School in Nkulumane from 28 to 31 August.
The four-day celebration, driven by the Fraternal of Churches in Bulawayo under the Zimbabwe Council of Churches, Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, Union for the Development of Apostolic Churches in Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops, comes in partnership with international ministries including the Global Network of Evangelists and Kubamba from Kenya.
Organisers say the festival is a mission to bring salvation to everyone in Bulawayo. Already active in over 30 cities across Zimbabwe, the initiative seeks to reach every home, every heart and every generation with the gospel.

“This festival is not just for the youth, it’s for everyone,” said Pastor Bob Lenz. “We want to see families restored, communities healed and lives transformed through the power of the Gospel. Irregardless of race, mental or physical abilities, we are all equal in the eyes of the Lord.”
With worship, powerful preaching, roadshows and community engagement lined up, organisers believe Bulawayo is on the edge of revival.
“It is not a crusade, it is a festival. The festival model is different because we use various skills and gifts to showcase the love of Christ,” explained Rev Mungai, one of the speakers.
As the city prepares, expectation is high that Nkulumane will be lit up with the message that Jesus is Lord over Bulawayo.
