Contacted for comment last week, LAPF chief executive officer Mr Charles Mandizvidza could neither confirm nor deny that the pensioners had not been paid.
“I am not allowed to talk to the press. The correct person to speak to is my boss, chairman of the LAPF board Mr (Misheck) Mubvumbi who works for the Harare City Council,” said Mr Mandizvidza.
Mr Mubvumbi, however, referred all questions back to Mr Mandizvidza.
“Some fortunate pensioners were paid part of the lump sum gratuities way back in 2010, and the LAPF now claims that it does not have money,” said one of the pensioners.
