DYNAMOS players are threatening to boycott the Chibuku Super cup semi-final against Highlanders unless the club management pays their bonuses.

The situation escalated on Friday (today) when players decided to down tools on the final day of preparation for the crucial tie.

This boycott has exposed the club executive that seemed to have taken a back seat, taking advantage of concerned stakeholders who were coming on board to motivate the boys in their league matches by giving them incentives.

The situation has not been made any better by the fact that players were told the club has funds, but there is the lack of commitment to address players’ concerns.

“They sent Board Member marketing to come and address us, so he told us that they cannot give us a tentative date as to when they can pay us,” said a player that requested anonymity.

“He tried to force us to train but we cannot be pushed in a time like this so we told him that they have up to Saturday mid-day to pay us, or else we are boycotting the match.”

Dynamos players are said to be owed at least US$1000 each by the club. Salaries are paid straight into their accounts by the sponsor.

their record of six wins and four draws they last received bonuses for the 3-2 victory over league debutants Scottland in August.

For each win, a player should receive US$300 while draws are pegged at US$150 per game.
“We are not happy with what is happening, there is no clear communication as to when we should expect our money so we thought a protest is better.

“They always ignore our grievances, so yes we know right now was not the best time to go on strike but we had to do it anyway, for our grievances to be addressed.”

Effort to get a comment from the Dynamos chairman were fruitless.
If Dynamos prevail over the visitors, making it to the Chibuku Super Cup final, they will face winner between MWOS and Triangle.

Dembare could become the first club to win the cup three times consecutively.
With the club fighting relegation, a cup win could rescue the season for the Glamour Boys.
