No pressure on Pasuwa

THE Dynamos executive said they will not rush their coach Callisto Pasuwa into getting a replacement assistant following his decision to fire Tonderayi Ndiraya.
Pasuwa this week wrote to his executive advising them of his fallout with Ndiraya. Yesterday the Dynamos executive met both Pasuwa and Ndiraya in the afternoon in what was reportedly a tension-filled meeting.
Ndiraya had before the meeting also written a letter of resignation to the executive.
Dynamos secretary-general Webster Chikengezha said they would not pressure Pasuwa into finding another assistant.

Chikengezheza said they had accepted both Pasuwa’s letter and Ndiraya’s resignation.
“We met as an executive and accepted Tonderayi Ndiraya’s letter of resignation from the club. The coach is yet to appoint another assistant and we have told him not to rush.

“He should take his time to identify the candidates and maybe come back next week,” said Chikengezha.
Pasuwa this week wrote a damning letter to his executive in which he sought to have Ndiraya redeployed from the first team.

As the pressure was getting warmer in the dressing room, Ndiraya also wrote a letter in which he sought to resign from the Harare giants. Ndiraya also indicated that he would now focus on pursuing further studies in sport at Gateway College.

Sources also indicated that before accepting Ndiraya’s letter, the executive had turned down Pasuwa’s recommendation that the assistant coach be redeployed with the management, arguing that there was no room in the junior teams. Chikengezha said Pasuwa can come up with his preferred assistant after the national team assignment against Zambia at the weekend.

“This week, the coach is focusing on the national team but he will be looking around.
“At the moment we are okay because the other assistant, Tichaona Diya, is taking charge. If the coach is not engaged with the national team, he finds time to attend to the team.

“We also have team manager Richard Chihoro who is capable,” said Chikengezha.
During yesterday’s training session at Zimphos Grounds, Diya took charge of the players with the help of juniors coach Herbert Maruva.

Veteran midfielder Murape Murape sat out because of an injury while DeMbare’s new signings Oscar Machapa, Benjamin Marere and Victor Kamhuka worked out.
Midfield hard-man Milton Makopa also continued with this fight to regain his place in the team. Dynamos are likely to play a practice match against police side Black Mambas at Morris Depot on Saturday as they seek to keep their players fit.

Chikengezha said he was praying that their players would not be affected by the long break from the Castle Lager Premiership programme.
