Reality show on the cards

Zimbabwe is set to introduce its own version of Big Brother called Zimbabwe Ine Stayira which is going to be aired on ZBCTV from August 30.
The 13-week reality show will be pre-recorded and the audience will vote for their favourite contestants through text messages. On the show 30 youths from all over Zimbabwe will be travelling in a bus throughout the country’s major tourists destination accompanied by five celebrities at a time, who act as team captains during challenges and also stage concert.

Some of the celebrities who are part of the cast are Stunner, Tinopona Katsande, Ba- Shupi, Extra Large and Ex Q among others.
The contestants will be eliminated through weekly evictions based on the votes of the television audience.
One of the producers of the show, Jerry Makawa, said the last surviving contestant will pocket R200 000.

“We have introduced our own version of Big Brother dubbed Big Brother on Wheels. Every Friday the show will head out to a pre-determined destination and spend three days before returning home. The first episode will be held in Harare, the next three being in Chinhoyi, Mutare and Gweru respectively. After that, other episodes will include Bindura, Bulawayo, Hwange, Masvingo, Kariba, Chiredzi and Victoria Falls,” she said.

The bus will then travel to the episode’s destination as people interact and have fun as well as contest each other for small prizes such as cellphones and hotel accommodation from sponsors. Once they arrive at the destination contestants will set up camp, and then head out for a fun concert hosted by the guest celebrities.
“Participants will compete for immunity from eviction through a series of exciting physical and mental challenges.”
