common enemy.
In fact, since the reality show started we have seen at least three housemates or more being put up for possible eviction a sign which clearly indicates that there are no permanent friends or enemies in both houses.
Perhaps what we only see are permanent interests.
This week, it’s the Heads House turn to nominate and Zimbabwean housemates, pilot Wendall Parson and top model Vimbai Mutinhiri, are both up for possible eviction come Sunday.
But the drama continues to unfold in the Heads House as the other housemates – Zeus, Hanni, Lomwe, Millicent, Felicia and Sharon O are also on the chopping board except Vina, who happens to be the Head of House.
Fortunate enough for Vina she had the simple task of replacing herself with Felicia who was not on the initial nomination list.
Felicia was the only Headsmate that was not nominated and Vina, as Head of House for the first time, had an opportunity to make what the rest of the Headsmates referred to as an “obvious” decision.
She seemed to be in the predicament as to what reactions she will get from Felicia, because if she saved herself the only other Headsmate she could put on the chopping block was Felicia. Vina eventually decided
to give herself a break, as she has been up for eviction every week the Heads House nominated.
Vimbai and Vina have been put up for possible eviction three times each and Wendall had never tested the chopping block, perhaps he needs to up his game lest he gets evicted whilst he is still coiling in his shell.
Suffice it to say there has been great anticipation from viewers to see how Wendall, who apparently claims to be a virgin, will fair in the house insofar as relationship is concerned.
Since Vimbai opened up about her feelings for the captain, Wendall hasn’t really come out in the open whether or not he likes Vimbai.
A couple of weeks ago and although Wendall was not up for eviction some viewers posted on the strap that they were baying for his blood.
This was not surprising because there hasn’t been much from this Zimbabwean heartthrob although most viewers are convinced that the dude has got brains and swag.
Just like the Ethiopian Danny who was last week evicted from the Tails House for “lacking in entertainment value”, Wendall’s cautious approach to the game especially now at the peak of evictions could turn out to be suicidal.
I was quite disturbed by Millicent’s reason for nominating Vimbai that the Zimbabwean lass needed to leave the house “to pursue her political dreams”.
Maybe Millicent needs to be reminded that Big Brother is just a game and when you hate someone because of their political affiliations, ethnicity or religion is equally naïve.
Housemates should be tolerant of divergent views and remember when Michael dissed Vimbai after saying the Government (Zimbabwean) had sent her into the house that was the last we saw of “Miguel”.
Vimbai put him up for eviction and that was his end and Millicent Africa is listening.
Big Brother Amplified is refreshed by Coca-Cola and is screened 24/7 on DStv’s Channel 198.
