No stopping for ZPC (Hwange)

ZPC Hwange continued with their winning ways in the Zifa Southern Region Division One League by beating contenders Nkayi United 3-0 at Chakona Stadium in Hwange on Saturday afternoon.

Goals by top goal scorer Justin Kaunda, who took his tally to 13, Fortune Nkomazana and Hubert Ncube drowned Nkayi United.

With the win, unbeaten ZPC Hwange moved to 55 points and need just 16 points from nine matches to be crowned champions and become only the third team from Matabeleland North to earn a Premiership berth after Hwange and Tsholotsho FC.

Second-placed Casmyn continued their chase, edging a battling Ajax Hotspurs of Mpopoma 1-0.

Third-placed Nkayi stayed a distant 35 points tied with Adachi FC whose promise is yet to be delivered on the field.

Mthabisi Sibanda scored the solitary goal in Adachi’s win over Jordan Sinott.

Mainline FC and Zimbabwe Saints played a goalless draw at Dingumuzi Stadium. Saints are fifth on 33 points and Mainline sixth with 30.
