No United deal for Pogba

LONDON. — Paul Pogba’s agent claims there is NO deal in place with Manchester United.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been negotiating with Juve directors Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici to thrash out the deal which will be worth in excess of £100 million and be a new world record transfer.

It is understood United have agreed to pay Juventus the massive fee for their France superstar and will hand Pogba a five-year contract worth £210 000-a-week, net.

But Mino Raiola, who will be owed a sizeable chunk of the final fee, has taken to social media to claim nothing is yet set in stone. “There is no deal done regarding Paul Pogba, lots of bla bla bla,” he tweeted.

The price was set by Italian champions Juventus several weeks ago and the prospect of smashing the world record had not deterred United from their bid to take the player. Woodward has missed the first leg of his club’s pre-season tour in China in order to conduct negotiations.

Jose Mourinho, the new United boss, has been keen to ensure Pogba returns to pre-season training – after helping France reach the final of Euro 2016 – with his Reds and not Juve.

And the barber who gave “Pogboom” a new hairstyle during his ongoing summer holidays with friends in Miami was less secretive about his client’s possible future destination. “Had to change up Pog haircolour for his new team #ManchesterUnited,” said Criztofferson, the barber, on an Instagram post which showed him cutting Pogba’s hair in his Miami salon.

The post was later removed, perhaps at the behest of Pogba, Raiola or bosses at Manchester United.

It was replaced with a more sobre message which read: “Cutting up @PaulPogba for the weekend”. The second post drew dozens of comments from followers of both Manchester United and Juventus, who are expected to cut a deal that could see Pogba move to Old Trafford for a new world record transfer of 125 million euros.

Earlier yesterday United boss Mourinho said he was confident of completing the final “25 per cent” of his transfer business this summer, with Pogba poised to return to Old Trafford having left in 2012. — The Mirror.
