This follows a Supreme Court ruling that the ACPCA is the rightful owner of properties in its diocese of Harare.
Church services in Harare were conducted without incident yesterday by priests of the diocese led by Bishop Chad Gandiya although there were clashes at an Anglican Church in Glen View on Saturday.
Bishop Gandiya’s spokesperson Mr Precious Shumba yesterday said: “This weekend we have not witnessed any cases of violence and church services were conducted peacefully. The evictions are also going on peacefully with people moving out without any resistance. Tomorrow (today) we will be looking at other areas where there is some resistance.”
On Saturday, some people believed to be aligned to Archbishop Kunonga reportedly refused to vacate the Anglican Church in Glen View leading to skirmishes.
