NO WONDER HE’S LOCKED UP! Man stabs teen over bar closing time

A Chipinge man named Wonder Nxumalo proved there’s nothing wonderful about his temper after he turned a simple beer drink-up into a bloodbath, stabbing a teenager three times in a rage over bar closing time.
The 40-year-old hothead was this week slapped with a five-year jail term by the Chipinge Magistrates’ Court for attempted murder.

On 2 September, around 10 PM, Nxumalo and his 19-year-old victim were enjoying drinks at Gochi-Gochi Business Centre when the young man politely announced that the bar was about to close.
Instead of taking the hint, Nxumalo decided to take offence — literally!
“The offender stabbed the victim twice on his right arm and once on the right side of his neck with an okapi knife,” said the

National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) in a statement.
The vicious attack left the teen with a deep cut on his neck, two nasty gashes on his right arm where veins were severed, and a laceration on his left arm.

In court, Nxumalo was sentenced to seven years for attempted murder, but two years were suspended, leaving him with five years to cool off behind bars.
Authorities warned the public that violence will not be tolerated.

“This sentence serves as a reminder to would-be perpetrators of senseless violence that the justice system will not hesitate to impose relevant punishment,” said the NPAZ.

From Wonder to Blunder, Nxumalo’s night out ended with handcuffs instead of happy hour!
