DEDICATION, talent and diversity simply describes the collaboration single between Bulawayo’s Noluntu J and Gwanda’s Zhezhingtonz titled Hero that was released yesterday to honour the various heroes in society.
The two artistes who fused Afro-fusion and Tribal House spiced up the country’s celebration of Heroes Day as they did not only honour liberation heroes through their song, but heroes across societies.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, new heroes have emerged in the form of street vendors with access to critical information of national interest to frontline health workers who put their lives at risk to fulfil their oath of bettering the lives of people.
Listening to the single that is available on a number of digital platforms, one is taken on a journey of an imaginative storyline and powerful lyrics that are meant to unite societies through encouraging people to celebrate each other on a daily basis.

“Yesterday, we released the track Hero which is a love song that simply shows that heroes come in different ways. The song delivers a message from a heart that’s been broken a couple of times and is holding out for a hero to save it from tears and sorrows. With this song, we basically wanted to celebrate all heroes,” said Noluntu J.
She said they hope people will incorporate the song’s multiple themes including faith and hope into their day to day lives.
“We’re in a time where we don’t know if we’ll live to see the next day and we hope that this track touches peoples’ souls to have faith and hope for a better tomorrow.”
Barely hours after its release the track was already making waves on local radio stations. – @mthabisi_mthire
