Norton Community FC has announced the suspension of five members after an investigation that followed a review of their
recent 7-0 defeat to Scottland last week.
The five consist of two coaches, Clemence Masunda and Willard Nguwonyemba, two executive members Tafadzwa Kuyerukana
and Patrick Nyamayaro, and goalkeeper Brandon Bere.
The details of the investigations have not been made public, but reports suggest that the matter is being taken seriously by the
club.
“We notify the public about the suspension of five team members with immediate effect. As of October 16, 2024, they no longer
partake in any club activities until further notice,” reads the statement issued by the club.
“The suspensions resulted from an investigation following a review of the matchday 33 Scottland vs Norton Community at
Rufaro, over allegations of match-fixing, which violates our club policies.
“The club takes these allegations seriously and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct and
sportsmanship.”
According to the club, the suspensions will be reviewed and may be subject to further disciplinary actions.
