‘Nothing like a job well done’….. . . meet Pamushana High School 20-pointer

Munashe O’brian Gutu  Pamushana High School
Having scored 20 points at A Level, I have targeted a first class degree at the renowned University of Zimbabwe where I am bound to study Law: LLBHS .

This has been my goal when I first stepped into 2017 and I am looking forward to achieve such a goal.

Many students who make it at A Level have a tendency of relaxing and failing to be consistent when they get swallowed in the dark corners of tertiary environments but I intend to be different, rather set a precedent and maintain the high standards.

This also came after I scored 7A’S 3BS and 1C at ‘O’ level and I decided to improve on that in the Arts sector where I studied History ,Literature in English ,Shona and Divinity, subjects which I had passion in doing.

I also encourage parents to allow their children room for doing subject combinations that they have at heart regardless of having passed with distinctions in certain Science subjects they did.

This is a good idea since passion encourages hard work and boosts the morale of accomplishing a desired goal without pressure from parents.

Most parents have a bias towards sciences since they have a plethora of high sounding, great paying jobs, but truth is ,if one does best at his/her own field where his/her passion lies, great jobs will always come his/her way.

When I started my A level at Pamushana High School I vowed to work hard, with the aid of the motto, “One can be motivated using a threat, reward, or terror but these methods are temporary, the only lasting one is self-motivation.”

Therefore allowing children to carry on with desired subjects at their hearts would encourage self- motivation which is a prerequisite in as far as working towards a goal is concerned.

A senior prefect at High School, I learnt that being a leader also bears the desire to ensure maximum effort due to the fear of letting down your teachers who had the confidence that you can carry out both school work and responsibilities at school.

I also participated in charity clubs and I believe it is through that, that I managed to get reward from God Himself since one gives in order to get back.

I would like to thank my subject teachers , Mr Mutubuki, Mr Makaudze, Mr Tarusarira and Mr Chinganga for assisting me on how to tackle 4 subjects and to remain focused.

Mr Madhuku the school headmaster also provided us with a conducive environment necessary for producing good results and not also forgetting my mother, Mrs Gutu who showered me with some notes of advice.

There is nothing satisfying as a job well done, my father used to tell me.
