A suspected notorious drug dealer was yesterday dragged to court after she was apprehended selling crystal meth worth ZWG$3000.
Amejuldha Matore, 36, was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare magistrate Ethel Chichera, who remanded her in custody to today for bail considerations.
Prosecutor Thomas Chanakira alleged that on August 26, detectives from CID drugs received a tip-off that Matore was in possession of dangerous drugs namely methylenedioxymethamphetamine.
Acting on the tip-off, the detectives teamed up purporting to be potential buyers and they lured Matore to come into town.
She agreed and promised to meet the potential buyers at Jameson Hotel along Samora Machel Avenue.
Matore got to the hotel and got into the alleged buyer’s car where she handed over one sachet of crystal meth which she took from her black handbag.
Soon after, the detectives introduced themselves and advised her that she was under arrest and they seized the crystal meth.
A preliminary test was done to confirm that the recovered drug was crystal meth and weighed 20 grams with a street valued of ZWG$3000.
