Notorious MDC activist on the run

Notorious MDC-T youth activist Godfrey Tendai Mungeni who has been on the most wanted list at the Central Intelligence Organization, is said to have evaded questioning and justice is believed to have left the country for a yet to be ascertained destination.

Mungeni, who is wanted on a number of high profile cases which include leaking sensitive information and alleged illicit business operations of an unnamed top official in the Air Force of Zimbabwe, is under investigation by the police.

The former Air Force of Zimbabwe trained air-man who was stationed at Manyame airbase’s rehabilitation hospital for traumatized servicemen is said to have gained insights into the army boss’s close family business operations when he befriended his late son whom he was assigned to look after.

The 27-year old has been on the unit’s wanted man list after his defection to the opposition political party when he had been perceived to have had gained insights into state operations.

According to sources, Mr Mungeni had claimed that the army had been at pains to disassociate its activities and its impartiality from political parties and that he was in possession of a document which shed light on the intricate operations of the state machinery, which he believes makes him a dangerous man in the eyes of the state.

“His reasons for fleeing the country are connected to the information he alleges to have and he believes that makes him a targeted man and the consequences are dire for him should he be brought in for questioning.” said a source who worked closely with Mungeni in the army.

The cunning Mungeni is also suspected of having developed close ties with former President Robert Mugabe’s sons, whom he used to siphon privileged information which he went to on to supply to the opposition MDC.

Mungeni, a vocal grassroots activist has also been in constant trouble with the law for his association with pressure groups such as Tajamuka-Sesijikile and his close association with the missing opposition activist Itai Dzamara of the Occupy Africa Unit Square fame.

However, newly sworn in State Security Minister Owen Ncube said

Mungeni should just come and face the the law and prove that he has not committed any crime.

“No one is above the law and individuals should be answerable for their actions. We have freedom of speech here, but if you utter anything subversive to the tenets of constitution, you should be man enough to take the sole responsibility for such actions,” said Minister Ncube

Mungeni is no stranger to controversy and undermining the laws of Zimbabwe as he was at one point said to be romantically involved with a bi-sexual woman, Michelle Tendai who was exposed by our sister paper, H-Metro. She is also on the run from the country’s justice system after steamy lesbian pictures of herself and a girlfriend went viral on the social media prompt the police to institute investigations into the matter.
