NRZ to increase coaches

Loc1Victoria Falls Reporter
The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) says it will introduce additional passenger train coaches during the festive season to ease transport problems. NRZ public relations manager, Fanuel Masikati said the company was committed to providing an alternative and affordable mode of transport to the travelling Zimbabweans this holiday.

“We will allocate additional passenger coaches to our trains across the country to cater for the anticipated increase in passengers using the trains during this festive season,” said Masikati.

“NRZ is geared to ferry passengers across the country at very affordable charges, which we feel take into account the plight of the travelling public.”

Masikati said the fares would remain the same during and after the festive season.
“Victoria Falls-Bulawayo trip costs, $8, $10 and $12 for the economy, standard and sleeper coaches respectively and this is very reasonable. We are going to stick to these fares,” he said.

Buses plying the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls route charge about $15 to maximise from an increase in numbers of travellers.
Normally the route costs $13.
