The National Social Security Authority (NSSA) Workshop 2024 has kick-started at King Solomon’s Hotel in Kwekwe.

The workshop is being attended by engineers from across the country as they share ideas and experiences of how to reduce occupational hazards within the workplace, one of NSSA’s major mandates.

The two-day workshop will be officially opened by Public Service, Labour and Social Work Minister, July Moyo on Thursday.

Ending on Friday, the workshop is being held under the theme “Promoting an Occupational Safety and Health Culture through Vision Zero.”

Vision Zero is a transactional approach to prevention that integrates the three dimensions of safety health and wellbeing at all levels of work.

It is based on the assumption that incidents and work-related ill health are preventable.

A speaker from Germany is expected to deliver a speech on “The Vision Zero journey and the sustainability of a safe and healthy workplace.”

Participants are drawn from mining, manufacturing, agriculture, energy, engineering, and local authorities among other sectors.
