Low pass rate in driver’s learner tests across Zimbabwe, latest statistics reveal

OF the 3 821 candidates in Bulawayo who sat for a certificate of competence tests in the third quarter of 2023 only 1371 passed, representing a percentage of 35,9, latest figures from the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency show.

In its fourth quarter 2023 Transport Statistics report released on Wednesday (today), the agency said nationally, of the 70 461 candidates who underwent the certificate of competence test during the period under review, less than half (39,4 percent) passed.

“In all provinces except Manicaland (59,7 percent) and Mashonaland East (61,8 percent) , proportions of candidates who passed the certificate of competence tests during 4th quarter 2023, were less than 50 percent, ranging from 30,3 percent in Midlands to 42,6 percent in Matabeleland South.”
