THE National Social Security Authority (NSSA) 60th annual National conference on safety and health at work (SHAW) has started in Victoria Falls with local and foreign delegates attending.
The conference seeks to assess and evaluate safety and health in organisations.
It is a forum for the exchange of experiences, practices, and expert knowledge on the creation of hazard free work environments and seeks to provide a platform for creating strategic partnerships for innovation and practical ideas for accident prevention in the workplace and also to promote leveraging of business on hood occupational safety and health practice.
The theme for the conference which will end on Friday, is “Safe and healthy work environment: A fundamental principle and right at work.”
Topics lined up for discussion include resilient and sustainable occupational safety and health systems, workplace safety and health monitoring, organisational modeling for a turnaround occupational safety and health, laws and standards, mental health and others.
Presenters are drawn from local and international safety and health experts.
The official opening of the conference is set for Thursday by Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister July Moyo.
There will be awards on the last day on Friday to honour companies that have excelled in occupational safety and health.
